Hi guys,
So I've moved from a TD5 to a Non-A/C 2.4 Tdci and I was messing about with the climate controls yesterday right before I drove back into the workshop. To my surprise the lower slider (highlighted) wouldn't budge from what I remember was the far right position. Click image to enlarge My question is, is it broken? I'm gonna hazard a guess and say yes, although I never had a chance to ask the mechanics. Also, what differences is there between the A/C and non-A/C spec'd pumas? As far as I'm aware there's no difference with the number of vents? Yes, it's broken, unfortunately. All that lever does is change from incoming fresh air to recirculating and isn't related to the A/C operation.
There are no physical differences in the cab between A/C and non-A/C models except for the button to turn A/C on. Externally, you'll have the flat fronted radiator grill instead of the protruding A/C one. Thank you both for answering that and the questions that I was going to follow up with.
Will be upgrading it down the line with A/C so good to know, cheers! Stuart Cummins 130 Build Thread 58 130 Double Cab HCPU - Cairns Blue 04 110 Double Cab - Black (gone) 07 Audi RS4 Avant - Silver |

At £160 I'm certain I will be able to fix it! Stuart

Yes, it is an absurd price for a rather crappy plastic jobbie!
Just remember that with a/c you have yet more things to go wrong. |

Mine was stuck for a long time but I kept fiddling with it and finally it came loose. I never really understood why you would want recycled air over fresh air ? Is it something to do with manure ?

I use it as a means to close off the intake, which otherwise seems to let a constant low level draft through. Can also help with warming up on a cold morning but not for too long as moisture tends to build up too. Darren

Had something similar with mine,
luckily it had just got jammed? there's a cable like what I would describe a Mtb shift cable that comes out passenger side bulkhead under the bonnet, it looked like it'd been over rotated I manually pushed it back and it's worked ever since (2 years +) |

We had that problem on our 2010 Tdci, luckily JLR's warranty fitted a new heater unit! This was back in 2013, though!
