On my Puma i removed the rear spings without a compressor but needed one for the fronts. they are very cheap now and save a load of hassle

I did mine without a spring compressor without any drama .... front and rear
Just watch the flexi brake pipes.. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Did you need to jack the chassis up so that you could lower the axle far enough or not? 2016 D4 HSE

No need for spring compressor.
Just need to jack chassis as high as you can, take wheels off, so axle can drop lower, and you may have to remove anti roll bar clamps if fitted. Andy |

i have never used a spring comp on a LR. as above jack the chassis up then drop an axle as far as it will go watching brake pipes etc, may need to remove a shock on the rear to do it. front shocks obviously need to come out to get the spring out. Cheers

Never needed one. You can also lift the front with a hoist, does the same thing. Whilst you're at it, put open turrets in, makes the job easy the next time you do it.
