G Wagon
Ok, probably not the greatest thing to post on a forum frequented by green oval fans, but this video is quite awesome.

I follow Tom Pemberton on Instagram and YouTube. He is a farmer from the North West and usually posts a couple of farming videos a week, mostly about what's happening to him and things happening around the farm. I find him very entertaining and quite natural in front of a camera. He got the chance to go to Austria with Mercedes Benz to drive the G Wagon and Unimog.

His first video came out today and is the G Wagon day. I think he likes them Laughing

See what you think. I thought it was really good.

I'm looking forward to the Unimog video next Tuesday Thumbs Up

I would love to own a Unimog. I would quite like a matching G Wagon as well. Wouldn't sell the Defender though

G Wagens I can 'take or leave', but I do like a Unimog. Lots out here in the Alps, always makes me crane my neck. And here's a sooper dooper, all singing, all dancing camper based on the latest UM. Bow down

Well if you like your Unimogs, Tom Pemberton Farm Life on YouTube next Tuesday.

They are some brilliant photos Grenadier 👍

Like you, I would have a Unimog any day over a G Wagon although a G Wagon would be more practical for everyday use.

Unfortunately only a few in Norfolk. Nearly all owned by the utility company UK Power Networks. They bolt cherry pickers onto them. Saying that I have noticed they are using JCB Fastracs as alternatives. They must be a lot more cost effective to them.

Probably unlikely- G-Class starts at 92k I think currently, also I suspect that the G- much like the precious incarnation will be a far better vehicle than the new Defender.

I have driven both the g350d and AMG G63 on and offroad and they are awesome- and bearing in mind what a machine the previous generation was that is praise indeed.

New Defender starts at 45k and quickly rises. I'm sure when you get to a g class spec you wouldn't be far off. Apparently the pricing means that it will be more expensive on average than an Ewok and a Disco Sport... Shocked Monsieur Le Grenadier

You can get the worker edition of G (called a professional), in G350 and G300 format (G300 is the proper classic worker, 350 is just a de-blinged shiny civvy model)

Alas they don't sell the G300 pro here in the UK, but currently are in Australia. An excellent piece of kit.

Not quite. Unless they have recently updated, the Professional is an older version (461) with different chassis, interior etc. Still decent but nowhere near as capable as the current G Class. I actually think it looks nicer but then I think the current one looks hideous.

There are 2 models of professional, the 461 300CDi, and the 463 350CDi.

the 463 is based on the same chassis/axles as the G63

461 is just military spec with shiny paint. Still has the 7 way NATO light switch etc.

the 463 350 is available new now in europe (LHD though, not sure if they do a RHD)

capabilities should be more or less identical on all models as the axles (bar a slight width difference and ratio change)/suspension etc are all the same across the board.
