2008 2.4 Puma not starting - HELP!
Hi all.... HELP!!

I've had a terrible day...... got big mower stuck in field in deep mud....took Land Rover over and got stuck, managed to winch both out of the mud.

Left the Land Rover ticking over in the field.

When I went back out to the Land Rover it had stopped?

I think I have an immobiliser problem.

The car still locks fine on key fob.... immobiliser flashes as expected then goes to the slow flash. When I open the car with the key fob there is no usual immobiliser light showing. Engine Cranks but will not fire.

I've tried locking and pressing lock many times to sync...doesn't make any difference
I've disconnected the battery and reconnected to no avail

Tried my second key fob....that didn't work either but it still locks and unlocks with it.

Any ideas please.

Regards

Rob

Hello G4UJS

To spare any Embarassed ...I trust you haven't run out of fuel Question

If after checking all obvious connections you think it maybe the Lucus 10AS Alarm
describe the symptoms to Paul Brown...

I don't think it is fuel....the fuel light isn't on and its showing about quarter of a tank.

Its in the middle of my field at the moment so will look again in daylight.

Not sure where I should be looking tho!

In the daylight, go back to basics - has mud and stones dislodged a fuel line at the filter? Has it been so deep that something has dried and fell off onto the TDC sensor on the back of the bell housing? Are the under seat relays secure?

Good luck!

As it is de-immobilising and will crank, unlikely to be the 10AS.

Try the removing the instrument pack (Torx T30 needed I think) and bridging pins 3 and 4 of the plug with a paperclip or similar:

Instrument Pack is still plugged in above
(Plug from memory is a 'rolling lock' in position so don't just pull it take a good look at 'release' mechanism) SKIP

Possibly, if the instrument pack isn't seeing the incoming immobiliser signal.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
