What is it you are connecting and where (i.e. current and environment).
If practical I am happy to crimp cables with Superseal, Econoseal or Deutsch DT and post them? Cheers Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

No problem
Do you have a soldering iron? If so, might be more practical to solder on a pre-crimped connector with short lengths of cable and heatshrink? Cheers, Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

I crimp my Econseal with a pair of short needle pliers. Rubber seal over the wire, wire into the pin, crimp over one of the little wings, crimp over the 2nd wing, a good squeeze and then crimp over the last two wings that hold the rubber seal. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Thanks, didn't think of that. I could do with a bit of extra length in the loom anyway. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I was wondering if I could do that as I have done it with other connectors before, but I didn't know what econoseal ones are like. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Not having the crimp tool to use on a 2 pin super seal connector I used the plier and solder method above. My tip would be Lightly tin the wire and the pin first . Make sure the wire is cut exactly the right length. I.e not too long. Crimp the conductor to the pin using pliers then get the soldering iron real hot and apply to the crimped area only. When tinning the pin and when soldering the conductor to the pin have the pin facing upward and vertical so solder cannot run forward to the front of the pin and use the minimal amount of solder else it will gunk up the pin locking tabs and/ or the pin socket and the male and female pins won’t slot home fully and the connector will not seal correctly.
These are the 2 pin super seal connectors I used for Daytime Running Lights (DRL’s) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-Supers...B0755W72K8 Note :I did not buy from this supplier but it does show good pics of the connector and pins |

If I'm worried about waterproof, I just use ordinary crimped or soldered connectors and then coat them in Plasti-Dip.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a plug?
For a permanent connection you could just use these https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/insulated-b...ellow.html (not sure about these exactly - I use the glue-lined ones). |

It is those things that I’m replacing. Needs to be a plug. I’ve ordered a pair of Superseal connectors from 12v Planet 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

OK. There was no mention of it needing to be a plug - just a connector.
