Get is scanned and see what it says. In the absence of a scan tool... Make sure your ABS sensors on the wheels are well seated. They can back out sightly. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Pull the fuse to reset it.
If it comes back on its a fault likely a damaged/broken sensor. As above check all are properly seated. Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

As above, plus a loose wheel bearing, dodgy connections etc.
Friends Disco used to do it if you adjusted the seat............ |

Pulled the fuse and replaced - still showing as a fault.
I'll be donning overalls and having some fun tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions. Neil |

The trouble is, ABS rarely kicks in on a Defender driven normally, even in the wet.
So the shuttle valve in the ABS unit can stick. Mine did the same, get it reset then find a piece of grass or gravel and get the ABS to kick in a few times. After that it will most likely be OK. Try to “use” the ABS occasionally, getting the near side wheels on gravel/mud/grass usually does it. Mines been fine since. Obviously this doesn’t always work and you may have an actual fault, but it’s worth a try. Also l think you need to reset it with a diagnostic tool once the warning lights are on. |

to switch abs off you have to tap the brake pedal 10 times in a quick succession, I will become active again automatically above 15 km/hr?
You don't deactivate it very easy by accident. So I am sure that didn't happen. Like what is said before check your sensors or the shuttle valve. There are lots off options not in the manual.
On some cars you can switch the seatbelt beep off by pushing the seatbelt in 10 times in very quickly. I.e. Ford Focus and mondeo some years around 2005 I believe. It also works in a Disco 3 pre 2007 I don't know about the later ones. That wont help. You need diagnostics to tell you whats gone wrong. 9/10 times there wont be a physicaly issue withthe sensor. ABS can be hard to turn on but TC is very easy Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Not an answer, but a question. Do all Td5s have ABS? If so I certainly wasn’t aware mine had. Likewise with TC - do they all have it and how would I know?

No. Only XS Defenders and mid - high spec D2s.
If it has ABS it has TC Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Mine has ABS and tc, it's not an xs. It was optional on all variants and standard on xs.
It will have an ECU under the bonnet and abs tc lights on dash that should illuminate on startup, abs goes off after few seconds, Tc lamp should extinguish once driving over 5mph. |

Fairly rare though! I think the option was around £1800! Instagram @defender_ventures

This is true! But there are otherwise basic spec ones out there with it fitted, likewise with ac, also I think certain fleet users specified these options such as mod/police by default.
