Looks gorgeous - how old, how many miles? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

The wife has been on about getting a RAI for her Defender. So ended up buying one and installing today, along with the window blocks I bought for her long ago. The only problem is the company we bought the RAI from, sent a very nice glossy catalog. She’s got her eye on a set of 16 inch Bowlers, and numerous other goodies for her Defender. Need to get new wing mirror arms as those are in bad shape.

Some great projects. Particularly like the Panzer 2. I’ve a few jobs to do on the TD5 but also have been tinkering with my Escort Mexico. I’ve had a Lotus Twin Cam rebuilt and replaced the original crossflow. Almost good to go when lockdown lifted. Just got to replace the heater matrix which sprung a leak so bypassed and sort an oil cooler connector that’s leaking. Cheers Neil

Escort Cosworths are epic John. You will get it sorted in the end. I’ve had that engine waiting for 17 years and finally got it rebuilt as a 50th birthday present to myself.

There are some great projects on here!
Mine yesterday with my son was a little simpler but still good fun. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also had the RC cars out in the garden, all good fun. But sat isolated is making me think I need to replace the bumper on the TRX-4. It was 'modified' by previous owner and just looks terrible now. My son also wants a winch for his Outback. Might do some research... Started to rewire the Harvey Frost. Almost done the wiring for the lights....but, ran out of thinwall 11amp 7 core trailer flex. Needed around another 600mm to finish. So ordered 10m of the stuff.
Another set of LED trailer lights ordered and AMP connectors used for the connections to the lights. LED marker lights to sort out/order next. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

I've bitten the bullet and bought one of these, not new but a demo unit:
https://www.tracmaster.co.uk/collections/c...-commander I've got a scythe head and a set of twin wheels for extra stability. It will be interesting to see how it performs. Much of the farm can be done with a tractor and flail, some of it can be done with a quad and flail, but as I get older I get less keen on the quad and flail - it is just a bit too hairy and there aren't any upsides to rolling a quad. This bank mower is supposed to be able to work at 40 degrees. I looked at the flail head, but to use that the tractor unit needs to be run almost flat out, whereas the scythe only requires 25-30% throttle. So to paraphrase Jesse from the Fast Show.....this week I'll mostly be cutting banks. |
