TD5 Rev counter bulb
Tonight there, with in minutes away from home, the rev counter bulb just goes out. What bulbs go in these? as I will just replace the full lot while I have the dash apart. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I have just replaced all of mine with this kit
Much cleaner light
Need to order an extra small bulb for the rev counter - you need 5 of the stick bulbs

Not many TD5’s have the Rev counter, l don’t think it was ever a standard fitting and to buy they are around £300

It's a 286 code bulb, 12V 1.2W, all the small Td5 instruments use the same except the clock which has onboard LED.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

They were only standard on the SA spec 147. From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.

I replaced almost all my dash bulbs with white LEDs from eBay a while back. The exception was the clock which has PCB mounted LEDs. The upgrade of these has been covered in this forum but I've yet to do it.

The rev-counter is visible in this photo (albeit out of focus because the photo was intended to show the effect of the main-beam LED bar behind the aircon grille) but it shows the illumination.
