Engine cut out
Currently sitting at side of the road waiting for AA man to come and save me.

Driving to work this morning and engine starts perfect first time, drove 5 miles and it starts juddering and losing power and engine light pops up, still drives for another half mile then cuts out completely, it starts back up and drives another mile before the same thing happens again and now wont start back up again.

Have recently (wednesday) had the solenoids changed in starter motor to brand new ones.

Sitting here freezing my t*ts off its -2! Banging Head

Any ideas???

Try with fuel cap removed in case of air lock.

How does pump and fuel sound during priming procedure?

I'd say you've dodged a bullet to be honest.

I had a similar issue which turned out to be the ECU. New CPS = £35, ECU rebuilt = £350

We changed my CPS as a precautionary measure as we thought it might be the issue and it was covered in both oil and fuel from a leaky FPR. CPS is relatively easy to change, though a bit of a Censored to locate: Looking at the bellhousing from the offside wing nearest the windscreen it's at about 11pm.

Just for info - to test run TD5 engine, you can use any TD5 engine ECU, you just need to pair it with imobilizer (10AS) in car, and probably set the right type of fuel pedal, to be able to increase engine RPM. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile
