Replacement horn / TD5
Hi folks
After a little bit of wading, my horn has pretty much packed in and been reduced to a whimper
Are all horns just a simple case of connecting the wiring and off you go?
I need to replace mine before it’s next MOT in April , and would like something MEGA!!
You know, like a train horn Thumbs Up
Any suggestions

Hi Enid

You could go for an air horn, what I did was to buy two uprated horns, replaced the original in the standard position then added the second one to the opposite wing (behind the grill in the headlight surround) then ran a wire to link them together.

Works pretty well for me and much better than the single original squeaky version.

Good luck

Air horns dont fare well in the water if you are thinking of dunking it further.

I agree with the PIAA twin horns Thumbs Up .

I thought that a Td5 was like a Puma and had twin horns from the factory.

Only county spec and up had twin horns I believe. My 90 was base spec from the factory and only had 1. Has 4 now though Rolling with laughter 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

My 02' DCPU only had a single horn fitted from the factory too.

I used the second horn connection as the trigger for a relay for my loud aftermarket horn. I have also fitted another relay which prevents the aftermarket horn sounding unless the ignition is on so as to keep down the neighbour annoyance when the alarm goes off!

My '07 Puma County spec DCPU had 2 fitted but only 1 worked, a sort of half way house between the poverty spec single horn and the top spec twin, perhaps! Rolling with laughter

My 05 base van style 90 again only 1 horn, LHS near grille. Installing twin airs made the appropriate truck noise Very Happy
but did need a relay according to the install kit so you'll need to choose appropriate location for wiring. In the end I chose tucked away under the bonnet on inner wing. Sold the much modified 110 2.8, in Oz
Brought the 90 home from Switzerland ...
