It's sadly the case. It always looks mucky after a couple of weeks.
Not sure it's the DPF, but mine does the same... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Td5 has a spinner. The oil will stay cleaner for longer as the spinner catches all of the carbon and heavy particles.

Ah the penny's dropped - MartinK reminded me that the TD5 had a centrifugal filter which kept the crud from the engine oil. Thanks for all your help folks. 2015 90 XS Station Wagon Puma 2.2
