Enjoy it. When it breaks get it fixed. Don’t worry about the imponderables. 😁

Agree with Huttopia.
The output shaft issue seems to be pot luck. You may have got a good one which will run forever, or a bad one which could fail tomorrow. Clutch lifespan seems a bit hit and miss as well. I'd wait until one or the other fails and then consider replacing both at the same time whilst the engine and gearbox are separated. |

I would definitely do both at the same time but wouldn't do either until you detect a problem with one of them. I have a 2.4 90 neither have been done at 82k miles but have parts ready for when they are required. Cheers

as above - defo do both at the same time.
I believe clutches generally go first and generally they get noisy / rattling before they let you down so try and enjoy till you detect a problem. .....and by then there may be an alternative solution available for the output shaft issue |

Welcome to the forum. It's nice to have yet another member who is crazy enough to own both a Defender and a Morgan Defender 90XS SW

Thank you for all your replies folks it is much appreciated.
I will now try to forget any potential problems, join a breakdown service and hope that it is the clutch that gives out first. Discomog, with the exception of ground clearance have you noticed the similarity between Morgans and Defenders, build quality, ride comfort, reliability etc, etc. Why do we put ourselves through this? 2015 90 XS Station Wagon Puma 2.2 2015 Morgan Plus 4 |
