Injector cleaner - how often?
My newly acquired 130 has only been driven 4.000 km the last 2 years. I thought it might be good to try something to clean the engine / egr - etc. I have been recommended Bell Ad - anyone have any experience with that or similar? The mechanic that used to service my WV said he used it every second month on his 130 hp WV transporter - is that really needed? I suppose it wont harm anything - or??

Regards

I would be careful. Drain any water collected in the fuel filter and then add the cleaner. Then I would change the fuel filter and engine oil. I`ve just used Liqui Moly diesel acconditioner/cleaner. Puma 110" SW

I heard that the Puma engine with its micro fine injectors may not appreciate any type of cleaner!!
Thoughts anyone?

I use Forte diesel treatment every 6 months. I just pour the litre bottle into a full fuel tank, and don't add 2stroke oil. The landy runs well on forte treatment.

Today I went to a nearby Ford dealer to get a oilfilter for my Defender. They told me that they used Bell Add 1D+ on puma 2,4 engines each time they was serviced - that was an authorized Ford dealer!!

As told by the Ford mechanic I added 2 Bell add 1D+, because the car had been driven so little the past two years. It has all run through the engine now, and I belive ( I really believe) that the engine runs much smoother than before, especially under acceleration, I would give Bell Add my best recommondations. I had the car inspected monday, in order to get my licenseplates, and the guy doing the inspection was impressed about the pollution level - it was next to nothing

Not so sure anymore
As written in another post, I have some serious issues with my engine knocking - happened 3 days after Bell Add treatment - I will not recommend it before I know what causes the knocking. 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold

Don't add 2-stroke oil when using the Forte, or don't add 2-stroke ever?

I didn't add 2 stroke to the tank with the Forte treatment. Every other tank does get 2 stroke though Thumbs Up
