Hi all
Just trying to do a wheel bearing and cannot budge the nut , have I missed something or is it stuck fast? |

No the should just undo. Sounds like you need a decent length breaker bar and a possible handle extension to increase the torque.

They've always flown off for me, sometimes need an extension bar. > 110 XS Double Cab

There should not be a "locking plate" with the single stake nut.
As others have said, one the staking has been released it should just unscrew, so what you are missing is probably a long enough handle on the socket. Generally (though not good practice) they will unscrew without unstaking the nut provided that you use an adequate length breaker bar. |

52mm 6 point deep socket and 40 inch breaker bar

Thanks all for the tips,long bar did not work I had to get an impact gun onto it.

Now replace them with the old two nut system. It’s far better, and doesn’t ruin stub axles.
