changed the fuel relay and we seem to be a little better, but still down on power, so i am changing the fuel filter out tomorrow, i am starting to wonder if the diesel i have in the tank has been contaminated with water, due to all that rain. because the tank was brimmed, now its starting to use it and the car seems to be getting a little better. well this problems had a right old laugh at me! The fuel pumps bit the dust there, the car died on me and my dad while we were doing the brakes, and it wont start at all.
We checked the new fuel filter, and there was no diesel in it. My dad couldn't hear anything at all from the rear at all, But it was hard to hear due to the bloody asda traffic. So this is going to be a laugh to do! Its already had a replacement one in, not long before i bought her. Looks like its had a cheap one installed and its gave up! The common rail trouble bites my arSE again!! The 306 was out of action last year due to a fuel pump and now this You got to laugh eh Just forked out on a nice upgrade too Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

update, the tank is out and fuel pump has been swopped over, but the fuel neck rubber ring dropped to pieces and destroyed the fuel cap
We had a barney getting the white ring on from the kit, and the black locking ring put up a fight too, we thought we had that locked, but it popped straight off. So tomorrow we crack at again, got replacement bits ordered off, new rear guard and fuel cap, and the breather hose has seen better days. I hope this runs like clock work after all this Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

back in action!!!
Fuel pump was the main problem after all this faffing about, Looks like when these die, the car still runs. Where the Peugeot would just shut off if it doesn't see a certain PSI of fuel. Not really that much of a pain to do really, if the tanks empty and there are two of you, All about feeding the pipes back through which helps. Did the priming sequence, and a few turns with the key and it fired over, and idled, i had an Allmakes crank senor in, and as soon as i tapped the pedal, the car cut right out. EM light straight on, I said right ok. Original one back in and fired up again, and its running better than the day i bought it! So those cheap senor's don't do all really, cause more issues. Changed the following units, New pedal, ( suspecting that to have been putting the light on the odd time) cleaned the ECU from oil and a new injector loom, Replaced the fuel pump relay for the sake of it Then changed the fuel pump, with a decent quality unit and an opitmil fuel cap Changed the crank sensor loom for a bypass unit. YRM tank guard. New brake pads on again, just needs to get a MOT and i can use it again!
