Picture of Rear seat belt mounting in 90
I do not suppose anybody has any pictures of how they have fitted the seats belts for forward facing rear seats in a defender 90, especially how they fitted it with the rear side trim. The seat belts and mounting brackets I was thinking of using are the Exmoor trim ones, any useful tips?

Thank you for the reply’s but I don’t think the link works, it just comes up with the link can not be found.

Insurance is something I’m very interested in when I spoke to the insurer (Aviva) they said as long as the seats count is below 6 and installed to the manufacturer spec they are fine with it

Declare the seats as a mod and they should be fine. A plan are and no extra charge in premium. There's a designated bracket that fits in the corner, which carries the reel and top mounting.
these are the kiddies Thumbs Up https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Defender-rear-s...3727115721
Eddited to add sorry Ive not got any pictures. I used genuine parts other than the arch plates. passed another MOT Saturday and hes was more than happy Thumbs Up Phil at OEM supplied all the bits, but a full kit seems readily available from others like YRM or LRI

From Exmoor Trim. If I recall correctly it's a genuine LR part.

On mine there is a bar under the wheel arch that the bottom of the seat belt bolts to through the floor. It’s attached to the rear bumper inside the rear wheel arch. I guess the floor itself wouldn’t be strong enough to retain the seat belt in the event of an accident so Land Rover reinforced it with a bloody great bar attached to the bumper / chassis! It’s a pig to get in and out! I know cos I fitted rear wheel arch liners and the bar had to be removed and then reinstalled to get them in.

Hope this helps?

I have the exmoor trim fwd facing rear seats fitted in the back of my TD5. Disclosed to my insurer (NFU) and no problems at all.

I don't actually - it is a van back with self cut windows, so square-edged arches.

I installed the loc and fold (earlier model) which has the buckle receiver attached to the seat rail. I'm not sure what the situation is nowadays but back then it was the only type approved one which would be insurable per se.

This pic is of current version of what I have.
