I have Ashcroft diffs, cvs, shafts drive members and intermediate shaft and no slop!
Have another with Ashcroft cvs, shafts and dms, with very little slop. Both on 70k miles. Both had 20~30k miles on that setup Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Everything helps, but the central atb is the most noticeable improvment.
Std central diff shims wear very quickly. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

Have you got a link to the central atb? I’m not sure I’m looking at the right thing.

JST - I will be going the same route as you have, in fact most of it I have already except the CV's / front end.
I only have Ashcroft DM's on the front. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I have a centre ATB and certainly reduced the slop. No the slop shows up elsewhere...namely the rear I suspect.
ATB = good move. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
