Re: Puma Safari door lock barrel removal | |
1989964 wrote:Hi can anyone help me with removing the barrel within the lock of a puma safari door. I have looked and the guides all refer to the earlier lock which has a "pin" you must depress whilst inserting the key. My later lock does not have the pin and i dont have the key either. Im fitting a later door to my TD5 and the door didnt come with a key. It is a central locking model if that makes a difference.
Thanks.
Yes it does have the little pin to press in, you need to have a better look using a torch as its not immediately visible. Once you've found it you then need to use a right angled pick or a suitable Allen key to get to the pin & depress it. As LRA says though you'll probably need a key in it to be able to remove the barrel, although from memory I got the one out of mine by winding a small self tapping screw into the key slot & using a small pair of vice grips to pull it out thanks to the lock barrel being all gummed up!
