got me thinking though;
- is this a good indication of the condition of the engine,
- does this suggest the remap is good,
- does not having a CAT make a difference (better of worse) - hypothetical of course

I don't know but what I can say a probe up the exhaust was used and seem to think he had a reading rather than just a pass or fail ie smoke or no smoke?

I am not aware of the tester ever probing my exhaust (ooh, err!) during a test, but then again I don't pay much attention to what they are doing (it's too stressful).

Yeah Cat on diesels do the square root of f**k all. it all goes on the smoke, which the cat doesn't even effect. Just watch how you remap  Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
