Sounds like a classic earth fault.
It's missing or broken somewhere. Easiest way is to get some decent cable (25~35mm2 stuff), make up some leads from the battery -ve to the chassis, gearbox and onto the bulkhead. Then maybe had a delve around behind the dash to see if there is a wayward wire anywhere. |

Thanks for that, thought that might be the case. Will have to investigate further, on a side not the blower appears to be hot or hot......no cold, I’m guessing that could be contributory?

The heater heat is controlled by a cable (on the RH of the dash), it just operates a flap in the heater unit uself...purely mechanical.
Probably just needs adjusting... there's a clamp thing that locks on the cable (at the heater end), that may have come loose and moved up the cable a bit. |
