Headlight flash
More electrical issues Big Cry
Having sorted the blown 30amp fuse for the lights I now have no headlight flash!
The Haynes manual says that again it's under the seat is 20amp and is horn/headlamp flash, however, on the fuse cover it just says horn and the horn is working fine!
Could it just be a faulty stalk assembly?
Any ideas gratefully received..
It's a 2011 2.4 DCPU.

As suggested, it's likely the switch - that's the horn/main beam/indicator stalk. Darren

Bridge the switch carefully. If it works it’ll be the culprit and buy a new one.
If not the issue is elsewhere $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I bought a new one incase the old one was toast but on inspection

I didn't realise these were still so basic! A 30 second fix!

I now don't need the new one!

Unfortunately the stalk still has all the headlamp current running through it so it's only a mater of time before it fails.
More so if you swap between main and dipped lamps at night.
This is why I fitted a good quality aftermarket relay/loom up grade kit. Cheers,
Kyle.

Landreiziger loom time too I'd suggest. Shouldn't have another stalk pop again, with the added benefit of brighter lights! (If you're using halogen of course)

Thinking about it, I presume you are using halogens, as LEDs should ever pull enough juice to pop the stalk.. Thumbs Up

What was the fix you did to get it working?

It hasn’t gone pop! As I said in the earlier post a 30 second fix! It was just a build up of fluff between the contacts! A quick blast with the air line and fixed! And yes, I’m running speaker led’s.

Ah apologies! I misunderstood. I assumed you meant you'd freed up the contacts that usually weld themselves shut or something!

Yeah those LEDs should be pulling enough current to really bother the switch. Thumbs Up
