I'm pretty sure it's 6/12 o'clock on all models. I replaced the switch on my '91 90 and the blue collar had an arrow moulded into it (just visible pointing the wrong way on this pic) that needed to point left for it to work. That leaves the slots for the steering wheel lugs top and bottom.

Thanks LRA. I presume you rotated the collar 90° ? That's where I have mine but indicators are cancelling before I turn. I'll try rotating it through 180° and see if that works.

i have only ever seen the ring top to bottom; even on the early steering wheel the ring was like this. The later cast legs also top to bottom

Yeah, that's right. Although I experienced the same problem where the damn things would cancel almost as soon as I turned in one direction. I did wonder if I'd messed up something inside by turning it away from it's centre position so I tried to reset it but with only limited success, to be honest.
