Here’s my ladder, it sits in the gutter and also has 2 bolts through the rear roof panel and 2 bolts on the bottom. It does not obscure the number plate at about +- 30 degrees to each side. Don’t know the make but it may be a genuine LR one as the roof rack is.

Ironically, that's exactly the same ladder as I have on my 90:
Click image to enlarge I'd discounted it, partly because it bolts on and partly because the supports that press against the body are very close to the lights. I plan to fit NAS lights and that will interfere. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? I spotted this and my passenger took a pic for me as another method for the number plate to be seen more easily with a ladder to the rack. The red arrow is to show you were the number plate light is located, hope this helps

Have now replaced my landrover ladder with a frontrunner one and jolly nice it is too! (had to have it bolted at the top as the pop top requires the roof gutter to be part of the raising roof )

I have a Britpart ladder fitted that covers the number plate as in the original post and I did drill the top mount and bolted it to the rear of the roof, must remember to remove it at MOT time........
