On a Range Rover (or Disco)

Do you get the green padlock appear if you dont have the e-diff on the rear diff? Mike

On a D3 yes you see both padlocks but the rear one never goes orange showing it is locked if you don't have ediff fitted.

Some folks report it showing locked when you go into rock crawl + low range but my d3 has only ever shown rear ediff locked when it needed to be i.e. when off road. On disco3 there's instructions on how to check but basically the easiest way appears to bs to look for the actuator motor atop the rear diff.

If you give me the last 6 digits of the chassis then I can check it for you tomorrow. No easy way to tell without getting it muddy or jacking it up!
