Hi Keith,

I'm traveling at the moment so don't get access to email so much.

Looks like you've nutted it out though Thumbs Up

I shortened the flex house, just long enough by my estimation plus 50mm just in case.

I didn't use the supplied mastic, it was too thick and hard for what I assumed it was for. Used my own, quite a lot of it too.

Did you have fun getting out the old internal pipe ? Rolling Eyes Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

I used the full length but spaced it evenly, particular around the brake servo. The old internal pipe? 2 cuts whilst in situ with a hack saw blade...run out of patience! m

That's it finished. Glad it wasn't just me that got frustrated to the point of hacksaw.

Also having fitted it and put the rest back together I can see why there's limited photos available, it's hard to get a view of it.

Now just debating what to do about painting or not the outside of the cyclone unit.

Forgot to mention. There is definitely an improvement doing the whole conversion including the RAI. I run a BAS tune and the engine is picking up a lot quicker. m

Didn't realise the old type of Mushroom fits the RAI. I may consider trying both types and see if there is any difference. m

Just wondering...

Would it be helpful to have the wing skin off (LHD Defender) during installation of this RAI? I'm in the process of installing a SD rollcage first, but don't see how it would be helpful with fitting the RAI.
However, if I have the wingskin on again, I don't want to remove it anymore (what a pain that is......)

Thanks for the advice!

Sven

No, it wouldn't help at all since the inner wing would still be in the way. It's easy enough to fit with the wing in situ.

Has anyone fitted one of these to the passenger side cabin air intake? Just wondering if it would help reduce the amount of dust sucked in when over landing. Not sure if there would be enough air flow to get the cyclone working properly?

Hmmm, having one on the passenger side would reduce visibility quiet a bit in my opinion. Particular when mounted to a cage. m
