Brake fluid change how to do?
I want to renew the brake fluid on my 110 puma, i can’t recall its ever been done Shocked

I have never done it before but can't see any problems.

Synthetic DOT 4 i believe is the right fluid? or the 5.1?

am i right in saying:-
fill reservoir
attach hose to drivers calliper nipple
hose in jar with fluid
crack open nipple
son presses the brake and fluid comes out
before the brake peddle is raised tighten nipple
and repeat until fresh fluid appears
same with other callipers? 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

If you’re feeling lazy you can suck the fluid in the reservoir out with a syringe and replace. It’s obviously not going to bleed out any air, but if your brakes are performing OK it will at least remove a decent amount of old fluid that could have absorbed water. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2

Got diagnostics & ABS? You can pressure bleed it.

Start with the furthest caliper from the master and work forward. Instagram @defender_ventures

Doddle then.

With diagnostics select pressure bleed, different all all models.

Open all bleed nipples and run a line into a jam jar etc... and top up the res. Press bleed.

Run it a couple times. Test. If you need to run the same process but individually from furthest to closest.

Mega easy. Instagram @defender_ventures

I did mine like this with no issues

sucked old fluid out of reservoir with small pipe, gravity drained

filled reservoir with nice new clean fluid

used a cheap easi-bleed device

bled each caliper in turn until nice new clean fluid came out

bled each caliper again just to be sure

topped up the fluid

happy days DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Start with the furthest? I thought you started with the closest and then worked to furthest? That said, does it even make a difference?!

+1 on the eazi-bleed kits - less than a tenner from Halfrauds, the one with the container is very useful as it saves it spilling everywhere! Used it on SWMBO's golf today, will do the defender in the next couple of days.

In my world of all pipes and fluids we work from the closest to the furthest, but it may be different in other worlds?
I don't think it really matters in this instance though.
