I'd say your injector washers and seals need changing (use genuine only) check to make sure your oil level isn't rising and smell for diesel. If your pump was making a lot of noise it'll be letting air in past the seals. When you did the fuel purge it puts some pressure back into the system. Ray

Mine had the same symptoms and I changed the pump for a genuine one at great expense and the seals and washers were the problem which only cost about £20/30 Big Cry Ray

Thanks for all of the advice,
The pump was replaced (although it wasn’t the issue) and the new one is very quiet after cleaning out the air bleed valve on the filter head....I suspect this was the main issue.

The Landy started playing up again so I removed the air bleed valve completely, and it hasn’t conked out since,
It is still losing power after being sat in the motorway for a while, and lifting off the throttle for a few seconds and reapplying it pulls again,

so I suspect that air is getting in but the removal of the blocked bleed valve filter is a allowing the air back out resulting in a loss of power.
Or a small air leak in the turbo system,

I have ordered a new set of intercooler and vacuum hoses, for the cost I will also replaced the injector seals as recommended

Cheers
Kieron
