I have upgraded the dash lights with LEDs so they are nice and bright now but not excessively
Tonight was just a quick job, as the heater matrix housing is out I might as well give it a paint: Anti-rust primer: Click image to enlarge Tough black: Click image to enlarge Also spent some time trying to trace random cables from around the dash area to see where they go and what they power as I’m hoping to reuse some for a new purpose 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ Cheers Graffty definitely worth doing but not this time of year if you need to use the wagon (there’s an excuse)
Out of interest whilst it’s out has anyone ever looked into heat loss from the housing? Anyone ever insulated it? Probably not worth it but while it’s out and I have some ccf laying around I’m curious. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

As grafty says it wont make things any worse, in fact it may make things a lot better. I have toyed with the idea of fitting a bigger heater to mine. Just to need to watch the vid again on how to do it. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

I have had a busy weekend working on Buggsy and she is close to being back on the road
I made a start with the heater matrix; Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I fitted CCF to the sides that contain the “hot” air, no idea if it’s going to improve it or not but after getting the engine up to temp the blowers are putting out around 35 deg C so I can’t complain. Wiring, electrics and switches was next on the list; Click image to enlarge New dash layout, I’m going to have to buy some new green led switches to match everything else but these are the ones I had laying around so fitted them all to fill in the blanks, heated seat switches are currently redundant but may not be for long the work light is in use with this; Click image to enlarge You can also see the reverse camera mounted on the door, I need to do a little refinement on the positioning to give me a better view and also need to mount the screen. There is one more switch that is in the process of being wired in once I get the correct cable. I had the rear section of exhaust arrive on Friday so was able to fit. With as much done as I could and the engine bled I took her out for a test drive, well it’s the first time I have driven her or any Td5 with soundproofing and she is very quiet compared to Jasmin and with more soundproofing yet to do she should be a very nice drive One problem I have found is a cluncking coming front the drivetrain whilst taking up drive so I will have to look into that over the next week, props have been greased and checked along with bushes/a-frame ball joint so looks like diff or t-box Oh and finally here is the reason she was christened Buggsy; Click image to enlarge 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Cheers Clayton she’s slowly going together it’s just the deadline fast approaching that’s the problem.
So tonight I did what should be a quick job, fitting a supplied loom to the small sun that now hangs from the roof rack, was it simple? No, am I 100% happy with what I managed to sort? Nope, still needs refinement but it’s fitted and it works Think it needs a little adjustment on the unit itself but it throws out a lot of light, not bad for £48, for off-road use only Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=ht...3214145730 Seller has increased the price by £2 180w version fitted to Buggsy.
I purchased the loom too but have had to cut and modify so much I have only kept the switch, relay and fuse holder, the loom isn’t the best to fit to a Defender. Ah I have some time off work booked and want to take her home, currently having a clearout of the trailer and have a few bits to go home that might not fit too well in the wolf also have this to shoehorn in: Click image to enlarge MkV bicycle 1942 vintage to be redressed as a WW1 bicycle for a little trip that’s planned in the summer 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |
