This sounds particularly promising: "Exactly what the Grenadier will look like inside is still being kept secret by Ineos; it will not be revealed until July. We’re not really allowed to say much, but we can tease: it won’t be all utilitarian, and there will be some pretty funky details in the cabin. In any case, it feels like there is more space inside than in a Defender - unsurprising given it’s a little longer and taller than the 110 varant of the Land Rover. This also applies to boot, and until now we didn’t know just how fantastically wide the two asymmetrically rear doors can open to access the rear space. " July is not that long to wait. Funky details ~ I'm wondering if there's an overhead console? I think something was blurred on an earlier release photo. |

For those with FB, a short vid of it doing some off-roading has just been posted. No doubt it will appear on YouTube shortly.

I like it. I just hope they don't make the interior too fancy.
Here is the email that came with the above links, DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT Hello So, what is it like to drive in a Grenadier prototype? We are giving you a look at some of the first reviews from a recent media test drive in Graz, taking on the perilous Schöckl terrain. The Grenadier continues to be pushed to extreme limits, ensuring it is capable of dealing with everything you can throw at it. "The Grenadier is not only up and running, it is nearly finished – and, as we discover, it’s quite brilliant to drive on and off-road." - Mark Tisshaw, Editor, Autocar. "When the Grenadier is launched, it will be unrivalled in its segment." - Auto Express. "If there were any lingering doubts about the ability of Ineos to turn out a world-class off-roader, they’ve just been blown away." - Car Advice. Those rear trailing arm mounts look very low, and painted white so that you can see them hit things 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

It's looking like a good product, but pretty heavy at 2650kg. Good to see it should be coming to Australia.

The weight is puzzlingly high for a non-electrified vehicle. They are saying up to 1000kg payload, but they’ll not manage to achieve that with those kerb weights unless they are expecting us to get a HGV licenses. Maybe the foreign markets they are targeting are more liberal with their weight limits. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

It’s also in the paper edition of Autocar this week, only a couple of pages and TBH I found the item on the Estimated £20,000 Tesla 2 more informative than Autocars spouting direct from the press releases…….. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

I don't believe the US market carries any penalties or thresholds due to weight (correct me if in wrong). There would be small deficiency penalties tied to resultant lower MPGs. However, these penalties are generally very small in the US under CAFE.
As a general statement, the 4 door variants of the bronco, 4runner and Wrangler are all at or a hair below 5k lbs. It makes sense that this vehicle would weigh more given the size and design drivers. However, an incremental 1000 lbs does seem high. |

The weight figure stood out to me, that's a whole 5-600kg more than a proper 110 kerb weight. Hopefully it's a bit lower (ie below 2500kg) so as to avoid it needing a cat c1 licence as mentioned above, as that would no doubt impact sales. 2011 110 USW
