Shame he is selling it.
I read and took screen shots from day one on the Ineos site and it was always clearly stated station wagon is a commercial.
I’m nearly 4000 miles in and can’t really find anything to moan about with it. It drives a ton better than my 2014 Defender albeit it can drink fuel when hoofing it about the country. |

Not really that interesting IMO. He bought a commercial vehicle, but then didn't want a commercial vehicle. I also suspect based on their other videos they are very much the "life-style" as in look at me type of owner. Anything semi utility based was always going to be the wrong vehicle for them. The only real complaint was the trim you can't really see behind the rear seats. At the end of the day, Ineos is a small scale/volume car maker and this is their first vehicle and first production run. They where never going to get it 100% right from the off. Lets face it, Ford and many others have been building cars on a mass scale for over 100 years and all of them still get it wrong too, usually on new vehicles and first runs too. |

I saw the light blue Bowker outfit at a local Country Show and managed a good look round it inside and out. The Sales guy was very honest about the various electrical gremlins and I’m sure they will iron these out. The build quality looks great and it looks like it was hewn from a solid lump of metal. I really can’t justify one for the amount of driving I do, but so very tempted.

Still amazed how bad the fuel economy is on these. the drivetrain losses, weight and aerodynamics must be knocking 5-7mpg off it id think.
As a general comparator my l494 with the 4.4 diesel gets 23mpg even if you drive it like you stole it, ive had 36mpg on the motorway keeping to the speed limit. Even manages 28mpg when towing a couple of tons. Im assuming its a bit lighter, no live axles, and has a more aerodynamic body shape? |

TDv8 in an RR is not really the same thing.
Bet you aren't riding on aggressive all terrain tyres either. Over the years, engines have got more efficient, but not really in mpg terms, just the ability to make more power for a given mpg. No reason a Tdi RRC or Disco couldn't do 23-34mpg depending on use. But you only got 1111bhp. A disco 2 or p38 auto offer very similar mpg again, but a bit more power, but still 100hp less than the Grenadier. I suspect the TDV8 would make for a lovely engine in the Grenadier, but it has a 6 pot diesel engine. Looking at the 3.0 litre TD6 L322 it is rated at 25mpg..... again on road tyres. The Grenadier is pretty comparable here. Parkers say 23-25.9mpg for the Ineos: https://www.parkers.co.uk/ineos/grenadier/...uto/specs/ |
