Headlight warning buzzer
Found another thing my new toy is missing,

After 5 to many times of, Ere mate you've left your lights on and a very slow starter one morning (cant think how that happened) Embarassed
I went thru the durite catalog (for web site just type in to google don't know how to post a link, lots of good bits on their) at work found a two tone beep, beep warning device easy to fit only three wires and sounds quite nice, found slight water leaking round windscreen too more warranty work for the next visit
The joys of ownership just keep coming Very Happy Very Happy

Did you wire it to be activated when the doors are opened? An engine to TDi for!

Yes dead easy.
One wire to side light switch live , one to ignition live (cancels beeper when ign on / engine running) and other to door pin switch ground. you can do it less than an hour if your left alone. Unlike me at work yesterday "can you just have a look at this for me" ARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG !
If your interested the part number is durite 0-562-00 12 volt lights on warning buzzer (but it does bleep not buzz)

I bought one from vehicle wiring products HERE but it's on my to-do list so I have no idea what noise it makes. http://defender90xs.blogspot.co.uk/

Don't know about you guys but on my LHD it's hard to get the key out (big fob) without turning the lights off... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

I fitted a sound card from CPC, bought as a kit, which has a range of sounds. Choose the siren option. Incorporated a relay so that if I get out of the car, to say open a gate, the alarm doesn't go off, (yes I know that's illegal but we all do it don't we?). Could be louder but it has saved me more that once. One point: the standard alarm, AS10, gave a permanent red light on the dashboard (door open), which was cured by putting a diode in the feed from the door switch to the AS10.

This should be a standard feature.

I always find that my mouth acts as a warning just after I catch my thumb on the light switch when turning the ignition off. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

I know this is veering dangerously Off Topic but LR finally removed my windscreen frame, completely "renovated" it (after 2 1/2 years!) sealed a new (working) heated screen in and put the whole lot back together and painted it. I hope to God that's the last of my leaking problems... but I'm not holding my breath... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

I put power to the warning buzzer from Vehicle Wiring Products and recorded the sound for anyone who is interested:

Turn the volume down as the recording is quite loud. Keep in mind this will be hidden away in the dash so the noise will be attenuated. http://defender90xs.blogspot.co.uk/

What year were these warning buzzers introduced as standard?
