To be honest I've not seen any queues or problems with fuel. of course I have 60litres stored away just in case
I think BigMike was correct when he said that it's all media hype ... and that's what's causing these problems. Me I went to my local BP, filled up, then queued for 10 minutes whilst the assistant made 20 cups of flippin coffee |

It's bonkers round here (Poole) this morning, there was a queue at my local filling station off the forecourt and round the corner 20 minutes before it even opened! The next nearest had the forecourt coned off and was closed completely for fuel. Most others had significant queues. Eventually found one with no queue, but all the low-capacity pumps had run out of diesel! Fortunately, provided you ask first, they let you fill a Defender at the HGV high-capacity pump, so I was able to "top-up" my tank with a modest £95 which should keep me going until Sunday
Bearing in mind that there cannot be a strike for at least seven days, the whole panic buying business is both annoying and depressing for those of us trying to carry on as normal. If I owned a forecourt, I wouldn't impose a maximum limit like some have (what use is £10 is a Defender, ffs!?), I would impose a minimum charge of, say £40 or £50 (or possibly one that varies by car - the cost of half a tankful perhaps) to discourage the twerps who are topping with a gallon or so. Crazy. Whatever happened to common sense? |

Yup, doing about 600 miles a week at the moment, so putting about £150 per week in the tank on average |

Dunno why people keep going on about extra tax revenue - it will be same regardless of the number of times people queue to top up their tanks! They are only using the same amount of fuel as their tanks take and the mileage they do! Either you fill up once a week a full tank or twice a week a half tank the tax is the same!

I agree but what about all the fuel people are storing in their jerry cans, if 10,000,000 people store 1 gallon each .. that's a lot of fuel |

Yes, but when they eventually use it they won't need to fill up from a filling station for a bit longer... so the amount consumed is the same in the long-term.
