Coal does indeed burn well for longer.
Gas bill so far is up 30% from last year too, and not surprised timber isn't drying at all. I've been doing some indoor wood preserving for weeks. (Outside but under cover) Each coat takes at least 24hrs to dry and barely even then, in the summer I can do two in 6 hours. Tried to measure out and cut a bit of Trellis fencing today, got to do that outside. It starts raining / sleety stuff... Stuck inside nearly all day long $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I like the grumpy old man thread, it cheers me up!
Are there as many grumpy old women as there are grumpy old men? If not why not? |

It's to do with genetics. Females do not get as angry about things they cannot change as males of a certain age. In a similar way, they never get heavy colds quite as bad as us Blokes. Man Flu is a predominantly male complaint which can only be cured by sofa rest and copious amounts of Jeremy Kyle

I would have to dead to sit in front of a T.V. with that on. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Got up this morning in a good mood until I read that Postman Pat has been outed as a filthy serial shag*er who fathered most of the kids in his town.
To say I am shocked is an understatement; no wonder he always said of himself 'I am a really happy man'. Should have known what the dirty postman was like when you look at the similarity that all the kids in the village look like him. Now I am going to be grumpy all day having had my illusions shattered by this philandering Pat who was posting more than letters into the ladies letter boxes. gilarion, I am both shocked and appalled at these allegations about Postman Pat
How could the BBC pedal such filth to the TV screens of our children? I need to write to my MP, maybe a call to my MEP (whilst I still can?) I expect that we will now be inundated with TV adverts from dubious Lawyers asking whether our children have been affected by the exposure to Postman Pat and that we should claim the compensation which will be so rightfully ours. Until then, I'm off to get my Nieces and Nephews round. Jeremy Kyle will be on soon. I for one am so pleased that programs like this are broadcast before the watershed so we can share the miseries of the world with the young people of this world. I feel it will also improve their understanding of the English vocabulary. So much better than that Postman Pat FILTH! They need to know what real life is like Postman Pat, I am so disappointed with you. |

Idiots pulling out in front of me.
Not once but twice today on a relatively short 20 mile round trip. First one I had to swerve and deviate from my course of progression due to their intention of forcing their way out of a junction without looking both ways. The second the worst of all, pulls out a gate way right in front of me. I am directly to her right, she never looked at all and stops dead in my path. Do people not have eyes? Maybe they can't see properly... $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Everyone knows the postman always knocks twice. Keep your SWMBOs locked away. Thankfully all the posties here are women. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Is it me, but does anyone else think that journalists are trying to find a story out of nothing. Some poor sod, freezing his nads off, standing in Winchester this morning on Breakfast News trying to tell us all how much snow there was? Well there was a little, but the main road they showed us was pretty clear and the side road had only had about half an inch on it. 'I was watching people pushing cars up this hill', he exclaimed
Now, if we really did have bad snow, like we had in the 70's when the local builder had to dig us out of our village, that would be worth reporting. But then if it was that bad, they wouldn't have got there without a helicopter. Another lady, who was probably a local BBC news reporter getting her first big break on national news was excitedly 'having to keep an eye on the river levels' for us all whilst standing beside a swollen river. I'm glad the BBC news reporters have it all under control. I'm not just having a go at Auntie Beebs employees, I'm sure ITV and Sky are just as bad at this kind of reporting, its just I can only watch one side at a time and I hate those damn commercials, but that's another rant. I apologise to all you good people who live in areas where it does snow hard, and cope well. It's just us southern softies only need a sprinkling for our towns and cities turn to gridlock and panic - yes Sir, revving your engine to red line and spinning your wheels uncontrollably will not help you get up that incline |
