Not to mention there are people more or less starving in this country in 2014.
Add that to the fact millions are being sent abroad though at the same time.... Won't be long before the NHS will be done for either |

private international school. Our son has been there for 11 years, they've had more than 1/4 million pounds of our money and in the last week of school, with no warning, they tell us he won't be allowed to take the Baccalaureate (A-Levels). He'll leave with all to show for it all.
He's got learning difficulties following brain injury as a baby and had to struggle every day to get even decent grades. Despite constant effort from us and endless promises from the school, they have done all to help him. I've finally concluded that none of the teachers give a about his welfare and should all be lined up and shot The only saving grace is that he's recently decided he want's to become a cabinet maker. Perhaps we can find something for him in the UK... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I guess that you are originally from Britain and thinking of returning? Well, you won't recognise the place, we've had it decorated...in road signs. You won't be able to find a 'quiet place' anymore, and we're about to rip up acres of countryside to install a high speed train that will take people from London to Birmingham, even though they want to come back the other way in greater numbers. The BBC is still stark raving mad, and is so far to the left that it looks like they will fall off. We still have a healthy financial services sector that is self-serving, but the EU will kill it off in 2017 by majority voting, so a career in money won't be good here any more. Cabinet making, you say? Well the cabinet is awash with liberals who want jails that are better than Disneyland, and the shadow cabinet is just awash. Don't send your son here. Although I still love my country, it's not a place I would want to advise a youngster to try and build a career in. Yes, he went to a private school - which helps a LOT - far more than it should, but it wasn't the 'right' school, was it, with the emphasis on 'right'. Talking of which, we still drive on the left, as does the Guardian, but just more crazily than we did before. It would become obvious to you that some drivers are so busy in their lives that they have had to get people who look like them to sit their driving tests for them. There is simply no explanation of how they otherwise hold a licence...to kill. Our young will be a shock to you. Tattooed, pumped up on steroids & legal highs, football shirts, and wanting to fight anything...and the young men are nearly as bad. Nah, advise your son that if he really wants to mortice and tenon, then go to Italy and join a design studio. The only things the Italians worry about is getting bit by Uruguayans, oh and Mount Vesuvius. Now left.

eBay have been trying to force traders to give 'free' P & P for quite some time now. There is no such thing as free P & P or delivery! Royal Mail and couriers do not deliver free of charge! So eBay gets typically 10% of price of goods and 10% of the delivery costs. PayPal charges typically 3% of the total. Who owns PayPal? eBay does. So eBay gets 13% off the total price If company is VAT registered HMRC takes 20% so 1/3 of the costs of items on eBay from traders is made up of tax and fees! Where is eBay registered as a company? Luxembourg! I wonder why! Brendan |

The lights are red and all the cars in front of you come to a halt. A few cars in front of you is always one that leaves a huge gap. 20 seconds later they close the gap up, so all the following cars have to move up to take up the spaces now created. Why? Why do people leave a gap, wait, then fill it? It pizzes off those of us with stop-start a treat, as your engine has cut out, and you have to restart, but it won't then cut out again as the movement forward was too little. So the benefit of stop-start is completely lost!!! Arghh! And when did people start slowing to a complete crawl to turn off a main road into a side road - as though the car will tip over if they go above walking pace? Are these two people in fact the same people? Now left.

I have real issues when approaching a T junction and turning right. I position myself so that I am going to come to a stop just short of the double markings and to the left of the solid white line denoting where the middle of the road is, then you get the arrogant t**t that is coming from the road to the left swinging right across the junction to drive where I have just come from, right across where I am aiming for. Because I don't give way the looks and gestures from the other driver seem to indicate that I'm in the wrong.
It seems these people need to have a copy of the Highway Code rammed somewhere so they can peruse it at leisure. |

I had a better one than that yesterday. I was positioned at the junction like jwl describes waitng to turn right and unable to do so because of the morons who had filled the yellow box junction. When some tw@t coming from my left and wanting to turn onto the road I was in went down the inside between me and the pavement. I was too gobsmacked even to give them a hard stare!

I'm sure that you all have junctions that you 'know' about in your home towns. In Reading, we have a road called Chatham Street - a two lane road in each direction. At the west end of it is a roundabout. After the roundabout, to the left, are two lanes which lead a hundred yards up to a main road. Locals get in the RIGHT hand lane to turn LEFT at the roundabout, and other locals wishing to turn RIGHT at the roundabout drive down the vacant LEFT hand lane, to then turn RIGHT at the roundabout! How's that? You can always spot a tourist driver! It's been that way for years, as the local council (who are stark raving mad) won't paint direction arrows in the lanes. Now left.

the gap is left so the tw@ts can text without hitting the car in front up the ar@e because there looking at the bl@@dy phone screen anyone using phone text or speaking should get 6 month ban and £1000 fine I don't know how they managed before phones texting should be banned altogether and to top it off half the cars you see doing it have built in f@@king bluetooth Last edited by munch90 on 27th Jun 2014 4:39pm. A mile from where I live was a bus stop - in a lay-by. Perfectly fine. Reading Borough Council decided that there weren't enough accidents there. So they moved the bus stop out of the lay-by, 40 yards further on to a blind right hand bend (I kid you not). There have been three accidents that I know of caused directly by the fact that the stationary bus is now a severe hazard on a blind bend. Drivers wait behind the bus until they think they can just make it...but they don't. Reading Borough Council are mental. For 15 years they had a road sign that sent Basingstoke-bound traffic into an industrial estate. 15 years! Is it just my council that are mental, or is yours the same? Now left.
