If there's one thing that's guaranteed to get me annoyed, whilst we're on the subject, that's people who seem the think they can just drive all over my bit of verge.
![]() I had it in pristine condition during the summer but what with all the rain we've had it's now as soft as butter. Why then does every bloody delivery driver think it's ok to park two wheels on it whilst dropping off the latest items from the Next website to the bint next door!? What with them and the builders visiting the house opposite it's starting to look like a tribute to the Somme battlefield. ![]() I even caught a bloke in a Porsche Cayenne parked on it the other night - or at least I would have but he must have seen me at the upstairs window with steam emitting from my ears because as I opened the front door he drove off and parked 50 yards up the road. Anyway, I feel better now for sharing this. I'll just go and check it's clear.... |

At my last house, we were in a village with a very well attended church. Our property was tacked on the end of some farm buildings on the side of a lane leading up to the church. Sundays, we just had to bite the bullet and either be out before the service or just grin and bear it. Weddings were the worst for the dump and run crowd and because most guests weren't regulars there was rarely any order to the parking. Funerals would produce the most cars but are generally held in the week so unless a delivery was due were the easiest to live with. My wife had planted up quite a good flower border by the side of our garden fence and it would be heartbraking to see a fresh set of wheelmarks through the middle of it. I ended up putting a fence round the rest of the cottage as people would see nothing wrong with parking their car right against our front door.
I've lived in many different types of properties, terraced houses right up to farm houses with no neighbours for at least half a mile but our last cottage provided the biggest headache when it came to invasive parking by others. |

Bloody ebay!
It is supposed to be an auction site! So how come a bidder is allowed to retract a bid after a couple of days? YES I can imagine the auctioneers comments at a real physical auction. Sorry I retract my bid before the hammer falls! Yeah right, I can see a real life auctioneer allowing the retraction of a bid just before the hammer falls Bloody ebay bidders some are a complete waste of space. Brendan |

Hang fire, what if they suddenly find their pay cheque hasn't been paid in on time and they can't pay instantly on win of auction...
Would they not be in the dog house then too? Expect the unexpected. ![]() β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

drives me mad on eBay when someone lists something on a auction then withdraw it because it's not making what they think it's worth ( which is normally more then it is )
you watch it for 7 days then they end it !!! it's a bl@@dy auction it will make what its worth |

At a real life property auction, 10% is payable on fall of hammer, NO ifs no buts. The rest is payable within 30 days.
Non property real life auction, 100% due at fall of hammer. The excuse my pay cheque has not come in, my bonus is not as much as I expected etc. will not wash! So very simple solution, if you have not got the money in your bank account Do not bother bidding! Brendan |
