Safari door hinges are available from the same manufacturer but they don’t have grease nipples like the door hinges. Ray

Cetane, I bought mine from a Swiss distributor, Rauh Engineering. You can obviously shop around with the various German and other distributors which I listed, but there seems at least one in the U.K., Defender Upgrades, which may be your easiest option.
A few recommendations for the installation. These hinges come with new shims, please use them and do not re-use your genuine hinge shims, not even new genuine JLR shims. Genuine shims are not a perfect fit for these hinges, the ones that are provided are. If you decide to use stainless screws for fitting, I suggest you buy a dedicated set as offered as an option by the manufacturer and distributors of these hinges. I believe you have two option for these dedicated SS screws, silver or black. Reason is that you then have the correct screw lengths for these hinges. Personally I believe in using genuine mild steel screws, and I do have plenty of spares available (from Dan at Duckworthparts) for when needed (never needed one thanks to my Weicon paste, more about that later). When my dealer installed my new hinges, I gave them my supply of spares, and after the job was done I heard from their body shop that in a few cases the correct genuine mild steel screws were a bit too short for these new hinges. They used longer versions from my spares, and shortened them a bit as required. As I did not do it myself, I don’t know which ones were too short. It may be a bit trial and error, and you might have to order a few new longer genuine screws (from Dan) if you go this route. This here applies to both SS and new genuine mild steel screws. The hinges come with a sachet of a yellow transparent anticorrosion grease. That grease is supposed to go where the screw head meets the hinge. Do that. In my case that was done by my dealer, and they also used my pot of Weicon anti-seize metal free high tech assembly paste (ASW 450). The new screws were all well dipped into that pot. In my opinion this is the best non (=never) hardening anti corrosion paste. Available in U.K. from Amazon. These hinges come lightly pregreased, but for greasing afterward, I checked with the manufacturer, and any lithium based grease will be fine. I believe these hinges are also paintable in your Def colour, at least my dealers body shop asked if I wanted them painted Santorini black. We decided no need, as the standard satin black finish melts in very well with my SVX stickering. Above just some hints after my experience. Bonne chance at the ultimate hinges solution.

Interesting, must be a brand new product. My safari door hinges still are perfect as new, but good to know this option exists now too for when needed...(or just wanted  ) There we go again...

I think (like you) I will be leaving them black. There are enough black bits on my 110 so that it should look ok. Just booked it in for its paintwork so both excited and apprehensive. (re the cost) Grease wise I'm probably just going to use Redline CV2. I use it on my UJ's and already have a gun for it. Re hinge bolts, thanks for the heads up. Ill be able to figure it out when they turn up by measuring them relative to the originals. Hopefully I've found a supplier than can do black stainless bolts. Had limited success previously with black bolts. Cheers again Cetane |

Well after drinking home made schnapps mid morning with Fabian of Offroad Monkeys at Bad Kissingen last year 4x4overlander has been stocking the Offroad Monkeys gear.
Offroad Monkeys gear is made in Germany and dare I say it to the normal high standards of German engineering. Can be found here We will be drinking some more of the Offroad Monkeys schnapps in a couple of weeks time. Thanks all for sharing your wiz(ardish)dom! Now that the second pair of hinges were announcing they want to part with me, I took a look at the aluminium hinges and the car is right now in the shop to get all doors fitted with them. They really look nice and I appreciate the nipples
 .
*update* Got the car back from the shop and am impressed. Doors feel much better, guidance is superb and it looks good with black hinges on the Keswick. I am happy. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

You will like them. I just pumped some fresh grease in mine last weekend. Once or twice per year is plenty. Very easy job with that grease gun model I have for this. Most time goes into wiping the excess grease off the hinges and nipples with kitchen paper. After several years all still in as new condition.
