Anyone got one of these? Love it's retro looks, shape and size, much more safari/exped than all the current dome tents. And given I am keeping the DC with cleaner 'non-overland' lines, (no racks etc), I'm not looking at a roof tent so this looks like a good alternative. Not cheap, certainly with the bits added (internal divider, stove, porch etc), but it's got great reviews and looks like a lovely bit of kit. Appreciate it's not a pop-up/pop-down tent for quick overnighters (I'd use just a poncho anyway), but to make a base for a few days with Mrs Gren I think it looks very civilised. I could even hang a map board and brief Mrs Gren using a Brecon Pointer, before taking her out on maneuvers (fnarr fnarr).

I've not used one but they seem to have done a great job with the design and extras, I really like it.
My only comment is that the frame system looks to be a two person job and is an old fashioned approach. I could see it being very noisy in windy conditions. Good luck keeping the coloured tape on the poles after a couple of run outs. You get more for your money with this one, but it's a monster! http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Ult...rce=119141 |
