I have seen this happen to other photo hosting options in the past. Usually is the original developer team leaving and the firm being sold. The new owners want to monetise it but as they want money before dumping it (normally bought for some software) they charge a large fee with the hope many will pay or go away.

Photobucket has ruined many forums as when you need the image it’s not there. Glad I never joined what is now a grubby money grabbing org! For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I have fixed this for this forum (and my others). I have written code to go through every post, downloaded the missing/blocked images from Photob*ll*cks, re-upload them elsewhere (storing them at my cost) and re-linked the images to the new location.
Same for avatars and signature images. This forum alone was about 18,000 images! Saved you all $400 a year I'm not intending on fixing this for future posts, you should use the forum image upload system or a non-PB image site (although with the caveat that another site could do the same again). 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

That's great news thank you Martin Whilst I haven't used Photobucket...if the visual content of the D2N threads is restored...fantastic. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

All my hundreds of pictures on Photobucket are 800 x 600 maximum. They only use 5% of my free allowance, hence PB works fine for me without any payments.

Good point, I could delete many of my pictures as they are not needed. Does the size you mention give a good sized picture on a forum?

Technical ease!! you know me Martin
What I would like is to transfer most of my pics to another hosting site, no idea how to do this with Photbucket. What we need is a " Martin" hosting site, would be very happy to pay for that. Every picture I have deleted duplicates by three so I can,t even delete a bloody picture |
