I deleted all my photos from PB - wat a horrible experience, all those ads all over the screen, very annoying.
Then I deleted my account, think I am / will not be the only one ... I read an article about this yesterday. Apparently, Photobucket are a relatively small company (under 50 employees) and their biggest overhead is server storage space, the majority of which is used by people with free accounts. They've got around 100 million users and even if they only retained 1% of those on their new pricing structure, not only would they make about $400m in revenue but they'd also vastly reduce their biggest cost. Can't see them being too worried. Darren

I get that, but would not it be better to, lets say, retain 100 users at $10 than 1 at $400? Cheers, Vincent

One of the problems is that even customers with a paying account have been hit. For me is not a problem, only had 10 pictures on it and linked to a couple of threads so easy to solve. My pictures still visible for the time being. The biggest issue is for people that have a lot of pictures linked, in multiple threads, it makes it impossible to remember all the threads. How do you replace the linked pictures in a long thread if you cannot see them? And even worse, people that have pictures linked to adds on ebay and others, now the pictures are not visible anymore and I understand that the adds cannot be altered if there has been a bid. |

Well I am a bit peed off. I did a report on our club forum about one of our trips. That thread has had 86,000 views but it is completely ruined now. It was photograph heavy as it recalled an 8 month trip.
I wonder how many useful threads have been ruined now? Brendan |

My 28 page build thread ruined on LZ and countless guides as well
I would have hapily paid up to around $100 per year to keep it going, but not $400 thats just a take. More off that there was zero warning! |

I wonder how many useful threads have been ruined now? Brendan[/quote] Pretty much every thread on every forum around the world! Most threads are now worthless without the photos, it is such a shame that this has happened. As a non user of said site, what becomes of photo bucket now? Do people pay up and still use it, or avoid it? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

It's $400 for each personal account, for one year. Darren

So the photos we host via this forum could all be hosted for $400 per year?
Is this forums gallery still with photobucket? 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW 1956 Series 1 Hard-top 1958 Series 1 Soft-top |

This forum's gallery is integral to the forum and is nothing whatsoever to do with Photobucket.
If the photos in this forum were to be hosted on PB, then every forum member who has one or more photo on this forum would have to pay Photobucket $400 per annum. |
