Carried over from another thread.

An informative post Lorryman100, you have been going some homework Smile

To clarify and add to it since im in the know Mr. Green

Puma error dtc age limit is 255 Counts of key cycles before dtc is auto removed
Puma error with mill lamp on dtc age limit is 40 Counts of warm-ups before dtc is auto removed

These options are also setable and adjustable or even removable via tuning if you know where to look and what to change, every single fault type in the car is available for modification if needed.
In fact i may change the shown NON tested dtcs and their age limit before clearing in my tuning to help the user determine the real faults if any.

Funny really as ive seen landrovers updates many, many times change the (DTC filter mask) for various faults and socalled fixes they come out with. Battery monitoring was one that springs to mind on the Discovery 4

Now for the stupid question Does the above counts of 255/40 key cycles mean in which the diagnostic runs without the fault reoccurring?

Yes this is normally the case.

Germany
additional numbers (digits 6 and 7)??
Hi,
can anyone help with the two digit codes after the general DTCs?
I've got eg

P0100-36
P1103-00
P0404-72

While I can look up the first five digit codes on the net and they are quite well explained by Lorryman above, I can't find anything about the last two digits. Is there a system to them like to the first five? Is there possibly some list that explains them?

Cheers

Yesterday I wanted to place the new bas remap. Before doing that I first checked if there were any fault codes.
The bas box found the following codes:
P0404
P0299
P0606
P068a
So decided not to place the remap and check first.

Do I have these codes now because I connected the bas tool to read the original file into the box and can I ignore it?

The turbo + manifold was replaced recently because it was warped. May be that caused the codes and the dealer did not clear them?

The car did not have the remap

Should I be worried? Or can I place the new bas remap on the car now

Personally I would install the map disconnect the unit as detailed. Take the truck for a spin and then rescan for codes. But that's me! I presume the truck was not running when you did the scan, in which case I would do as above?

The P404 code is EGR stuck closed.
P0299 turbocharger A under boost condition
P0606 engine control/powertrain module
P068A fault code (ECM Power Relay Load Circuit)

If you're duly worried PM Pete at BAS. If it's a new map his service is second to none and he'll sort you out. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Mees, I could have answered this in a email at the same time as doing your new map or in a email after it lol. It would have saved you posting Smile

As k9 said, just apply the new map. They could be old fault codes or non tested dtc's etc. this is where a fault code tool in some cases can cause worry to the user for no real reason Smile

Not sure if its listed in this thread already but you can find the text meaning for the tools given P codes in my web site search box. http://bellautoservices.co.uk
