And I thought the stealers in SA were bad, eish! Ok, I was also told that removing the cat/centre silencer would void the warranty, but a RAI!??? In SA, and Africa in general, it is very rare to see a Defender or Land Cruiser NOT equipped with a RAI, and not a single stealer would even dare to suggest this voids the warranty. For example, I had mine installed by a 4x4 workshop and stealers didn't care, no comment about it. I just cannot believe your stealers are being such poepholes! ![]() |

I took my heat shield off just to look around. I don't think my manifold is warped as nothing is black but I do have to ask why is my turbo and manifold so rusty with so few miles on my truck (500). My truck sat for a long time before I bought it but is this normal?

right i have just sent some bits to be made for this problem

as i went to remove anut from the manifold today i broke the stud

right lly after a few hectic weeks and no truck
![]() iv fitted the 2mm copper anealed gasket iv had made all cnc machined ![]() i fitted all 3 new studs as one had snapped anyway whilst the turbo was off i run a block over it and got it as flat as we could withour removing to much material i then smeared the 2 faces with a thin layer of firegum exuast sealent and fitted it all back up using brass nuts apposed to the original spec then run the truck for about 30mins without a down pipe so i could tighten it all up also whilst doing this i refitted my de-cat down pipe i also smeared some firegum on that joint as well as there is no gasket so far so good iv probly driven about 30miles so far with no problems so fingures crossed it should now be ok time will tell but it normally goes pretty quickly if its going to i will recheck the nuts in the mornign to see if i can get any more on them regards steve 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs 3.2 conversion DONE 238bhp and 707nm torque and thats just the start ;-P hybrid turbo in build -done ready to fit ashcroft atb in transfer box 6 speed auto in build |

jsut to let peeps no that i did suss the gasket problem and havnt had any more problems since doing my little mod
