Not hard at all, all you need is a spanner and the bits. Have a search as a fair few on here have done it. Myself included,
As yours is a pickup with side tabs all you'll need to buy is; hood with rope lashings, frame with door surrounds, suitable screen rail. You can swap it over in a day and selling your truck cab should at least pay for the hood. Defender puma dormobile camper |

I think the biggest problem is buying all the parts. Changing it is a piece of cake. I made from a pick-up a Hard Top.

I thought about doing it but as it's not garaged, I decided against doing a soft top for the safety point of view and converting to a hard top instead.
When I was looking at the soft top options I found everything was available from exmoor trim for around a grand. http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/our-models/def...l?cat=5896 http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/90-inch-defend...-2321.html Have fun with the build! |

As Tom has said very easy.
Here is my build http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic43443.html I made mine more complicated by doing bulkhead removal etc at the same time. Nice winter project 2020 P300 HSE |

Have wanted a soft top for a long time. Converted my 2007 pickup. Took about 3 hours to do and the hardest part was breaking the seal on top of the windscreen - amazing what you can do with a length of 3" by 3" and a high lift jack.
