Hello to everyone on the forum, I am the proud owner of a new to me 2012 Defender 110 with the above mentioned 2.2 tdci engine.
Whilst the car has only 39k miles recorded, 2k which are my doing, it did have a full service history, not all main dealer mind. I have only just signed up to the toplx site, and submitted the relevant details, and whilst the q421v3 recall is flagged, I am unsure if the work has been done. Is it possible to find out if the Defender has had again of the suggest work carried out. Many thanks in advance for any help regarding procedures of enquires.. |

Hello Rkcorry,
Thank you for your post. I can confirm that should you visit your local Land Rover retailer providing proof of ownership for your vehicle and a member of the service team will be able to confirm whether the repairs have been completed. Many thanks, Amellia |

Hi there Amelia, Many thanks for your quick response, I have checked with customer services, and in turn was redirected to my local main dealer.
Indeed it is one of the production dated engine suitable for the q421 recall, which they have very kindly booked me in to the workshop, the week after next. Thanks again....... |

Hi Amellia
I have just purchased a second hand 2012 defender 90 with approximately 45k on the clock. I am the second owner. The first owner was a facilities management company and I have an extensive vehicle service history in computer printout form. How do I check if the q421 recall work has been carried out and what do I do if needs to be done? Thanks in advance David

Thanks in advance David Hi there, further to the reply already received by Amelia, for the appropriate fee, you can log on to https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm and input your own Defenders details, to access all information on any outstanding issues and also previous work already carried out. alternatively you can just check with your local main dealer. |

I took the time to go through the previous Owner Company service record and they list the oil pump as having been changed (under guarantee) in June 2014. The Topix website lists that work as still outstanding for my vehicle. I have contacted the local LR dealer, to confirm, and they will come back to me as soon as the Jaguar/LR site is back online.

Hi all
Can anyone else with the same oil pump failure or engine/turbo seizure on the 2012 or puma engine please contact me or if you know anyone please ask them to contact me. Landrovers own guidance is that they should inform you when you speak with or visit a dealer and give them your registration about this type of recall. However if you are a second owner as I was there is a good chance this will not happen even if you visit the garage several times. I visited three dealerships and spoke to JLR several times over the year without it being mentioned once. With regards to the recall its very simple, just call Landrover customer care or your local dealer and they will tell you if the recall applies and undertake the work for free. Dont hang about either my estimate from Landrover for the new engine and turbo is £10,000 and my 2012 had full service history and failed without warning at around 10mph... Needles to say I am disputing this Phil |

The local LR dealer came back to me and said that their records show recalls Q360 and Q421 outstanding on my vehicle and that I must book it in. I'll take the previous owner service record in with me to discuss.
