While doing fluid checks today, I noticed that the top radiator hose is rubbing against the the intercooler hose.
After much searching, I could only find information about the turbo hose around the steering. Has anyone had the same or can suggest a 'fix'? Was hoping to only have to get the section of pipe from the junction (by temp sensor) to the thermostat (on the radiator hose) & then the intercooler pipe, but the workshop manual shows it as one piece Click image to enlarge & the parts on landroverworkshop.com appear to be for a 2.4 & not a 2.2, so do not think the part #'s will be much help? #2 Click image to enlarge #7 Click image to enlarge Thanks in advance Reminder, it's a RHD 2012 2.2 with A/C Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. If it helps, the top hose assembly is LR038062 and the intercooler outlet hose is LR066344

Thanks for reconfirming the correct part numbers
Was really hoping that it would not have to be the whole radiator hose assembly Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Douglas Adams 2012 2.2 Puma |

Visited the local trusted parts supplier...
The top hose assembly (LR038062 radiator hose) is only available as one part, but at least the price is reasonable. The intercooler hose (LR066344) is also reasonably priced. This is the superseded part with a 'bend' so it does not rub. Does anyone know if LR had a 'technical / service bulletin' and should this part have been 'upgraded' at service? According to Topix, (with my limited access) there is nothing outstanding on my vehicle, but it also says that it has never been serviced!?! Yet its been religiously serviced by LR in Maun, have the stamps in my book to prove it! Heading to a breakers, but used parts for the 2.2 are as rare as hen's teeth. Hose suppliers are checking... The hose has not worn though, yet! I'm going to look at it tomorrow morning and will make a fix, but hoping it should have been replaced by LR. Probably will go for new hoses, with my kind of luck one of the hoses will go 'pop' when in the Kalahari Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. No luck at the breakers
Yesterday, removed the intercooler hose... Its appears to have slightly collapsed and hence is rubbing only when hot, so wrapped in tape while slightly correcting the shape. Now does not touch! At least I've managed to get to the bottom of the part numbers... LR029650 (pictured above) is the original part fitted and LR066344 (below) is the new 'upgraded'. I don't see how the 'bend' will solve this rubbing though... Anyone out there have a early build 2.2 (end 2011/early 2012) that can look and see which pipe they have? & if it is the newer pipe, was it changed by LR? Still hoping that LR should have upgraded at one of the services, saving myself ZAR800+ Much Thanks Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. I've been doing some more digging...
There appears to have been a 'Service Bulletin'... LTB00562v4 - One Piece Charge Air Cooler Pipe Chafed and or Detached Issued on 11th November 2013 Now hoping that someone out there can confirm if this was for part LR066344 or was this for the hose on the drivers side by the steering column (cannot dig deeper with my limited Topix access) Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
