Irb did mine, 5.5 inch pipe (I think) from the box to the wing. Without the grille on you can fit your arm down it! Sounds lovely too, especially with a vnt 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Thanks Taaz,
Looks like you've done the whole shabang and done the VNT turbo too, I don't want to go too far, just the intake to the airbox would be great. What size pipe did you use please? I guess you made something up for the wing intake? Cheers |

If you bare with me, I will take some closer pics later and get some of how it goes into the air box etc and try and do a list of bits and bobs!
I thought I had some pics but just looked through me phone and seems I never did! |

I cant comment about the difference to a stock motor as it was all done at the same time as the rest of the bits went on.
However even with just a remap, the stock piping is massively restrictive and will be quite limiting, so larger bore would allow more air at a quicker rate giving a much better map and the engine wont be left wanting for air. I believe the optimal feed is 102mm (4") straight through. 76mm would give much better flow to, but if you want the most out of it, 102mm is considered the minimum! Gives a ruddy nice noise to :p! |

Brill, thanks Taaz, I've just been and taken off the air-box and piping, the entry to the airbox funnel is 76mm, so a 76mm pipe to there from the wing intake would help, and not be too difficult by the looks of things, otherwise it'd mean making a plate or something to fix the pipe to.
I'll wait to see the pics later |

I did notice a big difference with the larger pipe, much quicker to come on boost and pulled harder at the top end. I had the inwards pipe and air box mod at the same time 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
