Hi Eddie,
I did mine with a 76mm silicone pipe and a home made inlet - bought from ebay. It certainly helps with breathing but I can't say there's a performance gain. Sounds nicer though!
These aren't the best pictures but it'll give you the idea.
I used the original inlet and cut a hole in it, then fitted the new metal inlet that allows the larger pipe to be fixed, then removed all the existing plastic pipework, the 76mm fits directly to the air filter housing, it also fits under the master cylinder nicely and no need to move the aerial, I put some filter sponge on the outlet to stop any leaves/dust etc from being sucked in but allowing moisture to run through ..... I hope this helps

I know it's a bit of thread resurrection, but it seems I haven't thanked Lambley for posting those very informative pictures Thumbs Up

I still haven't done anything regarding this modification on my own TD5 Big Cry

This topic seems to be doing the rounds on facebook too.
My TD5 is running a strong IRB Stage 2 package. However, I fitted a Mantec snorkle when I first got it. I think I need to do something about it tbh... "Big green" 2000 Td5 90 IRB Developments modified (2004-2011)
