What about fully stainless?
http://www.bigtoolbox.co.uk/ProductGrp/000b00070009 Stainless head and mandrel, no aluminium to worry about. You know you've got them in the rivet gun though, they make you grunt a bit! I have no idea what the reaction between stainless and galvanised mild steel is, but it must be better than aluminium. |

The dome shaped aluminium rivets on my series haven't corroded and they were 63 years old when I removed them from the cappings 1953 80"

Cleaned and de burred holes, copious amounts of Duralac or similar, sealed Avdel rivets dipped in Duralac.
Job done for a good few years |
