MUD Bulkhead Removal Bar fitting
I bought a MUD bulkhead removal bar a few months ago and am thinking I really ought to fit it!

Does anyone have experience of fitting one and if so, how long does it take (I don't fancy running out of time...) and are there any tips or tricks to ease fitting over and above the instructions on the MUD website?

Many thanks Phil

I did one on my 90HT a few years ago, it took me and a friend about 1/2 a day, but my advice would be give yourself plenty of time, measure twice...measure again, then check...and only then cut! Overall it wasn't difficult. Sold Def 90 HT 2010...Stornaway..(SOLD in Oct 2014)
Current: delivered October 2014:- 110 USW XS.....Montalcino Red

Mine took me about half a day by myself. The biggest issue I had was fitting my TGE side panels back in again because they didn't like the flanges on the bar, and in trying to force them back in I crossthreaded the bolt on the seatbelt which isn't a standard size. Thankfully we happened to have a tap I could borrow on the farm.

You need a jigsaw and a drill. Lazy tongs or a powered riveter would be a good idea, as would some decent clamps. A grinder would help but isn't really needed - I didn't use one.

I think that seatbelt mountings are usually (still) 7/16" UNF thread, but I may be mistaken.

I did one, and I measured a lot of times before chopping ( it was less than two years old at that time )
I would allow 1/2 day also,

Once again, did anyone mention measuring Thumbs Up

Something like that. It's a fine thread imperial about the size of an M12 bolt but with a 17mm head.
Either way it's not a size I have lying around, unlike M12 Laughing
