- Eden Camp Museum is a good day out!
- Bolton Abbey is in a lovely part of the country and with some small walks - Royal Armouries Museum - A nice trip to Harrogate? - National Coal Mining Museum - A general exploration of York? The Shambles, York Minister, York Castle Museum, Bettys Tea Shop... there might even be the falconry show going on? - Not sure if the York Maze is open.... think it is! - Take a drive over to Knaresborough and walk along Abbey Road etc... - Take a trip to Whitbey? See the Abbey and walk on the 'front'. LOTS to do in Gods Own Country! |

You could add Yorkshire Wildlife Park to your list. It's not a zoo and it's not a safari park. A
n excellent experience for kids both young and old. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

In York there is more on offer from the the York Archaeological Trust 'Jorvik Group', even though the main Jorvik centre is closed - the sister attractions are -
"DIG - An Archaeological Adventure" - an indoor all year round activity centre but with the added attraction of a live dig going on next door at the moment with tours available - see http://digyork.com/event/archaeology-live/ Barley Hall - a medieval town house with exhibitions and, depending on day / time interactive costumed guides. http://barleyhall.co.uk Richard III Experience at Monk Bar and and Henry VII Experience at Micklegate Bar - http://richardiiiexperience.com (Both on the walls walk) Hope that helps. (Would also recommend as other have said a trip to Knaresborough - I'm biased about both the above - used to be an archaeologist / education officer at York and we live in Knaresborough ![]() Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

The Deep in Hull.
The Worth Valley Railway (Railway Children) North Yorks Railway of Harry Potter fame Assorted places made famous by TV - Holmfirth, Goathland, Thirsk A day at the Races The list is endless but the welcome to Yorkshire website is good. http://www.yorkshire.com/ Though to be honest the list of things to do in Yorkshire is endless, depends on where you are staying, what the weather is like and what floats your boat. Whatever you do try to eat some of our local grub and marvel at the countryside - remember it's not called God's Own County for nothing Barbara |

If you like food, try Ye Old Hill Inn in Chapel Le Dale about 4 miles outside Ingleton between Whernside and Ingleborough.
There again you could do the Three Peaks walk, pen hygiene, Wernside and Ingleborough. Brendan |
