Mick - how long have you had it? I want something that lasts well.
Heard a few horror stories about Karchers but it might just be their low rent models. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Over 12 month but if you get one from cosco you seem to get an unlimited warranty if you keep your receipt

Nilfisk are excellent. If you have a search for car detailing forums you will find stacks of info.
I had a Karcher, it died a death after 3 months of only light use. Replaced it with a Nilfisk over 18 months ago, never missed a beat. The one I bought was one up from base http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-X-Tra-Pres...t_edpp_url It will run for extended periods, I did a mammoth driveway moss clearance at the start of the summer that took a good 6 hours. For its cost and size it is very powerful. The only thing I would say is that the bottle attachement is crap, another £50 will get you a very good quality snow foam lance - highly recommended for cleaning the Landy, snow foam treatment in advance of a wash will allow the bulk of the muck to drip onto your drive before you so much as touch it with a cloth or sponge. |

I've had one Karcher pack up in four hours and another 'industrial' size one that gave up in two years.
They're excellent when they work but try to find a company to repair one. Karcher never answer emails. |

I have the STIHL RE128 high pressure washer with a 30m hose extension. I bought this new in 2003 for about £250 and have used it every week since with no repairs or servicing in this entire time. Couldn't find my pressure washer as they seem to have changed the cosmetic look of it so here's a link for the new look model:
http://www.mowdirect.co.uk/acatalog/STIHL_PRESSURE_WASHERS.html I'm sure you will get a better deal if you shop around..... |

Reserved a Nilfisk E140 (140 bar) one from Argos - no one else in Cornwall sells them!!
Should be able to pick it up in a couple of days time. By then, my hose will be frozen solid! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

i have a karacher HW washer, had it 2nd hand and its a very good bit of kit. i have had it 4 years now. Karacher have provided superb online help considering i didnt buy it new (needed a few bits when i got it) stuff is quite ££ though. we also have local dealer/mender where i can source bits from.
consider flow rate as much as pressure when choosing. In short you get what you pay for. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Flow rate on the E140 is 500 litres and hour which seems pretty good.
Anyone got a snow foam lance? Worth getting? Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Get this one http://www.monzacarcare.com/snow-foam--lan...m-lance/0/ In terms of the connection, I think you need the Kew/Alto but be safe and google it first (or drop them a line). I also use valet pro snow foam (same site) with a litre lasting 7 or 8 months (an inch of snow foam juice into a full lance bottle of water) It isn't cheap but you will see where the money went when it arrives - solid build quality and consistent spray every time. It is a reassuringly heavy piece of kit. Mine has been used continuously and still looks and operates like new. |

Also, if you use wax on the 335d, the snowfoam is PH balanced so it won't strip the wax off. I sold a 58 plate M3 coupe to make way for the Defender; that car was professionally detailed at considerable cost as it had been washed with wire wool (or at least it looked like it) before I picked it up. Using the snowfoam, megs shampoo and megs polishes I retained the prof detail finish for over 12 months...... Did the first wash of the defender at the weekend - comes up a treat |
